- Lounge 72 is an event featuring eleven poets, each reading 5 minutes of their best work. Find out more on Facebook and head along to Old Government House, Auckland, on Wednesday August 12th to listen!
- Unity Books Wellington hosts the launch of AUP New Poets 6 (Ben Kemp, Vanessa Crofskey, Chris Stewart) and 7 (Rhys Feeney, Ria Masae, Claudia Jardine), as well as the launch of My Honest Poem by Jess Fiebig. It’s all happening on Thursday August 13th – check out the Facebook event for more details.
- Word – The Front Line Semi Finals are happening at the Aotea Centre, Auckland, on Saturday August 15th. Find out more about the event on Facebook!
- The 2020 Mizmor Anthology calls for submissions on spirituality. The deadline is August 15th.
- Witi Ihimaera and Michelle Elvy are the editors of Love in the Time of Covid, which aims to chronicle the pandemic. Seeking submissions for web and anthology (closing December 1st).
- The NZSA Peter and Dianne Beatson Fellowship is an award of $10000 and closes on August 16th. Find out more on the NZSA website.
