Competitions closing and events August 2–4
- Poetry at Your Place (August 2): Your Place Events is hosting another live, online poetry slam on Sunday night (August 2)! Tune in at 7.30pm NZT. 🎤 This time they have partnered with the Melbourne Spoken Word Online Festival! Join the mailing list to hear about future events. 📨
- The Quick Brown Dog submissions close (August 2): welcoming submissions relating to the topic of “home” from writers associated with the Hagley Writers’ institute.
- Wairarapa Word Dark Sky Open Mic (August 2): an open mic event to celebrate the prospect of Wairarapa becoming a Dark Sky Reserve. An in-person event held in Martinborough.
- Blue Nib 43 submissions close (August 3): Calling Kiwi poets! We invite your submissions of poetry for consideration for #TheBlueNib’s Issue 43 or the Digital Platform! Please note that our reading period will be shorter than usual, so don’t delay in polishing up your best work and sending it in, observing our submission guidelines carefully. Thank you!
