CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS / EXPRESSION OF INTEREST
We are independent filmmakers looking to talk to collaborators for a short film.
The right collaborator will create a spoken word poem that will become part of a 2-3 minute film that employs symbolism and cinematic metaphor, filmed within a building(s) that has a history of incarceration and trauma.
We’re looking at locations such as former mental health institutions or corrections facilities so an interest or experience with mental health and/or incarceration would be helpful.
The film will be hosted online for free to a broad audience in New Zealand and potentially receive wide viewership internationally.
We’re looking to work with someone:
- To create a spoken word poem that speaks powerfully but sensitively of incarceration and of the journey from illness to health
- Who is a confident performer of their work in front of a camera
- Who feels strongly about the subject of mental health or incarceration
- Who preferably lives in Auckland.
If this sounds like you, please get in touch. We’d love to see videos of your previous work too so please send these along.
