Wairarapa Word is taking part in Celebrate Carterton as described below.
If you are a writer who lives in the Carterton District and you would like to read from your work on that day let Keith Thorsen know at email@example.com and he will slot you into the programme. We are waiting for the times of our two 12 minute slots to be finalised but the event runs from 10am – 4pm so our slots will obviously be within that time. We are likely to be in the committee room at the Events Centre.
If you don’t live in Carterton or if you don’t want to read we would love you to come along to support our group. And there will be lots of other interesting things going on. Entry to the whole event is free.
This replaces our normal event, which we hold on the first Sunday of the month.
Celebrate Carterton – Sunday 4 March 2018
Carterton has a glittering array of clubs, societies, service groups, charities and much, much more. Think you know all about the various groups that are doing things in our community? On this day, you’ll find out at Celebrate Carterton on Holloway St and the Events Centre. We want to celebrate our district with a fun day of activity, finding out interesting things and catching up with people old and new.
The street will be blocked off and there will be plenty to do and see both outside and inside:
- Dance, music and performance
- Hobbyists demonstrating what they do
- Story telling
- Information tables and exhibits
- Short presentations in the auditorium
- Longer presentations in the Committee room
- Tea, coffee and a sit-down in the Youth Centre
- Food and drink will be available
