November 2017: The birds are chirping more loudly and the weeds are growing again so things are on the move, despite our ongoing rainfall and fluctuating temperatures. This month I’ve added Contest page listings that close in January which makes Christmas and the end of 2017 start to feel more. A client advised me yesterday that the ‘lucky’ colour theme for Christmas this year is blue and that all gifts should be wrapped and the tree up by December 3! We’ll see. One of my favourite things is to wrap gifts in the days just before Christmas.
Linda Bartlett wants to start a haiku group in Auckland, details of how to contact her are on the Haiku Happenings page and don’t forget that the NZPS anthology is being launched in Auckland on November 12.
Scott Mason has a special price offer on his new book The Wonder Code until the end of November – a nice seasonal gift to yourself (see Haiku Happenings, towards the end of this page under Books).
George Swede tackles a few of the ‘niggles’ he has with haiku in this month’s article, a light-hearted read but one that makes its point.
