The New Zealand Poetry Society (NZPS) was established in 1973 with the goal of advancing education by promoting, developing and supporting poets and poetry in New Zealand.
The Society has around 200 members, who pay a $30 per year annual subscription. It is run by a committee that is elected annually.
Purpose of role
The role of the “Administration Assistant” is to assist the Secretary and Treasurer to manage the correspondence, membership and accounts. This role would be ideal for someone working in the creative arts and looking to earn some extra cash.
Processing payments to and from NZPS on Xero.
Maintaining an up-to-date membership database.
Assisting with the management of the Website and Social Media.
Key skills and experience
The administration assistant must have proven experience with the Xero accounting package and highly developed IT skills. Experience with WordPress and FaceBook is highly desirable as is a passion for Poetry.
This is a work from home opportunity. A home computer and internet connection is required.
Terms and conditions
The Administration Assistant is an at home contract role. The Society anticipates the role would average 3 hours per week. The payment will be $25/hour.
